Today I’m kicking off my Life Balance Group Writing Project and I want YOU to be involved!

My intention for this project is to explore the practice of life balance and get more and more people thinking about what life balance means to them.

The Result

The result of this Life Balance Group Writing Project will be a free eBook about the power of practicing the art of life balance. I want YOU to contribute to this eBook!  This free eBook is going to be an inspiring resource for people who need help taking steps in the right direction towards practicing the art of life balance.

Note: There will be lots of link love flowing towards you from this project (on CreateaBalance.com, in the eBook, etc).

This project will run from October 7 through October 26, 2008. The eBook will be compiled starting October 27.

Why Participate?

You may decide to participate for the BIG PRIZES!

  • Five people will receive 125×125 banner advertisements on CreateaBalance.com for the entire month of November 2008.
  • More prizes will be revealed during the group writing project.

Reach out to me if you would like to sponsor additional prizes!

I think you are going to participate because of all of the benefits! Participating provides you with the opportunity to:

1. Inspire people to think about what life balance means to them.
2. Have the exponential potential to expose your blog to others, find new readers, and receive more traffic.
3. Make new blogging friends.
4. Promote your blog.
5. Find new and exciting blogs of interest.

Remember, the more participants the better return on investment for you so encourage others to join!

How to Participate

1. Write a new post about life balance on your blog. Life balance means different things to different people, so put your unique perspective on the topic. Be creative and feel free to think outside the box. Here are some general ideas:

• What is life balance?
• Why do you need life balance?
• How I practice life balance!
• What I incorporate into life balance!
• What are the characteristics of someone practicing the art of life balance?
• Why I need life balance!
• The essential components of life balance.
• What does life balance mean to you?

2. Let me know about your post by linking to this announcement post. In case your trackback doesn’t work, also leave a comment on this post so I know you are participating. Only one entry per person.

3. Submit your post by October 26, 2008 at midnight Central Standard Time.

NOTE: Did I mention there will be lots of link love?

• There will be an ongoing central list of all submissions.
• I will post all of the links at the end of the project.
• All blogs will be mentioned in the eBook.
• I will be brainstorming more ways to provide the link love.

How to Get the Most Out of this Project

Once you submit your post, I encourage you to be an ACTIVE participant in this group writing project. Reading and interacting with other bloggers that submit posts is the best way to generate excitement about this project.

• Read the other submissions.
• Leave comments on some of the other blogs.
• Make connections with other bloggers.
• Share the link love if you find an outstanding post.
• Announce this project on your blog and invite others to join.
• Use Stumble Upon and other social media sites to generate excitement about your contribution to this project.

Why I am Creating the Life Balance Group Writing Project

• I have a strong desire to partner with other bloggers within the Personal Development niche. Lots of heads are better than one!
• I want to share with the world what today’s Personal Development bloggers have to say about life balance (Yes, I am talking about you!).
• I want to build new relationships with bloggers, share the link love, and get people excited about CreateaBalance.com and practicing the art of life balance.
• Because my passion is telling me to be bold, to be daring, and to put myself out there.

Submission Deadline Reminder

October 26, 2008 at midnight Central Standard Time.

I’m so excited to watch this unfold. Happy Blogging!

This is your moment!
Start writing your life balance post and let me know about your post by linking to this announcement page. Also leave a comment to tell me you are participating.

10 Kelly@SHE-POWER October 7, 2008 at 5:57 pm

Great idea Stacey. Stumbled.

Will think about what I could have to say about life balance – it’s not one of my strong suits to be honest. Particularly feeling this way as right now I am swamped with work and other commitments and my 4 year old is going through a particularly narcissistic, demanding stage and completely doing my head in! I feel anythign but balanced.

But I’ll throw the idea into my creative toaster and see if anything spits out. Be in touch.

Kel :)

state of balance in real life is impossible to attain…Biblically or scientifically, there will always be less or more of something! But Stacey`s project is worthy endeavor! By recognizing that i lack of many things in life is a good wake up call for me or for others who may not be pretentious to claim that they have the best thing in this life! Let us do it Stacey!!!

I’d like to be in but I think my life is out of wack right now. I’ll just wait for the e-book to come out.

27 Stacey / Create a Balance October 10, 2008 at 7:05 am

@Magnetizing Evelyn – Let me know if you come up with something. I’d love to hear your perspective.

@Clever Kid de Moll – Balance and Purpose. I love that. I’m looking forward to reading your twist on the subject.

@Thoughtful Karlito – Thank you for sharing your analysis of “state of balance”. I think “state of balance” can mean different things to different people and the depth of that meaning also crosses a large spectrum. At a high level, my definition of balance stems from balancing the needs of my inner authentic self with the needs of all of the other things that demand my time, attention, and energy. I don’t think it’s about attaining a state of balance because I don’t believe life balance is a destination (or something you attain). I think it’s a process and a journey to honor your authentic self, your needs, and your passions. I hope you contribute to this project and I look forward to reading more about your perspective on this topic.

@Radiant Robin – Thanks!

@Soaring Chris – Sometimes the most inspiring stories about life balance (and about life in general) come from people who are experiences life “out of wack”. I understand if you prefer to wait for the ebook, but I also encourage you to share your “out of wack” perspective. Your “out of wack” story has the ability to uplift people throughout the world.

Hi Stacy, someone just sent me an email about your project and I am excited. I write about life and balance regularly and it is something we all work on. Now I am trying to balance my passion for politics and consciousness which at times seems like opposite ends of the spectrum.

I will be writing a blog soon about Balancing Life and let you know. Did you know Weds. is Blog Action Day and it is about bloggers doing something positive about poverty. There’s a symbol at my blog to find out more.

I love your idea and your blog is awesome.
