Dalai Lama Love and compassion are the pillars of world peaceDuring this next moon cycle (November 22 – December 20) I will be diving deep into the world of compassion and incorporating compassion into my daily meditation practice.

Self Compassion

Christine Arylo defines self compassion as..

“Choosing to open your heart and being a loving witness to yourself, without judgment. And without condition, send yourself waves of kindness, understanding, and forgiveness that touch, heal and transform your imperfections, weaknesses, vulnerabilities and humanness through the presence of your unconditional love.”

I think of self compassion as the choice to let go of all self judgements – of loving myself and all my imperfections no matter what. I’ve been practicing self compassion for many years now and still have a lot of work to fully surrender my judgements over to compassion.

During this moon cycle, I’m choosing to have compassion for my inability to do it all, for my lack of patience, for my irritability, and for my tired bones.

I’m choosing to have compassion for my humanness.
